Updated October 16, 2026. Artward is operated by JING ArtTech Studio.
Build 16 and later let you browse Today, The Gallery, and Modern Art without an Artward account. Older builds may require sign-in before browsing. Sign in with Apple is required to save synchronized notes and participate in Community. When you sign in, we store your Apple account identifier and the name or email Apple shares to manage your Artward account, together with an encrypted Apple credential used to revoke access when you delete your account. Notes are saved on your device and synchronized to your account on our server, encrypted at rest, so you can restore them after reinstalling or changing devices. Drafts and favorites remain on your device. Delete individual notes in My Notes, or delete your account and its synchronized notes in Profile → Account & sync.
Your notes remain private unless you explicitly choose text or a photo to submit to Community. Submitted posts include your display name and any artwork reference you select. Posts and discussion replies are reviewed before becoming visible to other members; pending contributions remain visible to their author. Photos are re-encoded to remove original metadata, including location. We also store reports and account block preferences to moderate content and respect your choices. You can delete your posts and replies, report content, block members, or contact support. Account deletion removes your Community posts, replies, reports, and block preferences. Public contributions can be seen by other members, who may retain copies.
When you choose AI assistance, the prompt and any reflection you submit are sent to our backend and OpenAI to generate a response. Do not submit information you do not want processed by these services. OpenAI's handling of API data is described in its privacy policy. AI assistance is optional.
Our backend receives an installation identifier and normal request information, including IP address. We use these to provide the service, apply usage limits, and protect against abuse. Operational records may be retained for troubleshooting and security. We do not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
In build 8 and later, you can opt in to one daily notification when a new collection is ready. Our service stores your Apple push token, installation identifier, timezone, language, delivery preference, and an aggregate of local hours when you return to Artward. These are used for notification delivery and timing. Apple delivers notifications through its Push Notification service. This information is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Turn invitations off in Artward or device Settings; when your device reconnects, our service disables delivery and removes the stored push token. Contact us to request removal of the remaining notification preferences and delivery records.
When you choose Share, we save the interactive program, the interaction state needed to recreate your creation, a preview image, and a short concept on our server. Anyone with the resulting public link can view and interact with it or share the link again. Your private reflection is not included. Shared creations remain available until removed. Contact us with the share URL if you want a creation removed.
Artwork media and video may load from museums and media providers. Those services receive ordinary web requests and operate under their own privacy policies.
Artward uses the YouTube embedded player. Build 7 used Apple’s tracking permission prompt before creating the in-app player, with an external viewing option if permission was declined. Build 10 and later use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player at youtube-nocookie.com in a non-persistent web session, with playback requiring a user action. Artward does not pass your Artward account details, private notes, or reflections to this player. Artwork thumbnails still make ordinary image requests to their providers.
Privacy-enhanced playback still connects to Google, which receives normal web request information such as IP address, browser information, and video interactions. The player may display advertisements and use browser storage during a session. External links open the provider’s service under its own policies and your settings there. See the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service. By using the YouTube features you agree to be bound by YouTube’s Terms of Service. Video playback is free; subscriptions cover Artward’s original features.
Apple processes purchases. Artward checks verified purchase information to determine access and does not receive your payment card details. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
